And now, from the Books & Food mashup department: a brief, beautiful, and entertaining Tumblr called Fictitious Dishes, Famous Meals from Literature. Consisting of nothing more than a series of overhead photos, the Tumblr recreates crucial meals from famous books: Oliver Twist's porridge, Moby Dick's clam chowder, In Search of Lost Time's madeleines and tea. The project is similar to art-inspired food projects (think Sharon Core) but with a bookish spin. And, of course, if you really want to eat, not just gaze, you'll have to try the Mondrian cake at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art — or order it online.
