Sure, nobody claims that diet soda is actually good for you. But the stuff just keeps racking up the health knocks. First everybody worried that the artificial sweeteners used in diet soda could cause cancer. Then last year came word of an association between diet soda and heart disease. Now scientists are looking at whether diet soda (and, again, its chemical sweeteners) interferes with metabolism and causes weight gain.
