Portland will host IACP next April

According to its website, the International Association of Culinary Professionals is a "resource and support system for food professionals worldwide."

Mostly, these are folks who love good food and one way or another want to spread the word. 

I've heard that chefs and culinary consultants, cookbook authors and food bloggers, publishers and agents — all flock to the annual meetings of this group.

And next year, in April 2010, the meeting comes to Portland! It will be a terrific opportunity for PDX "food professionals" — including farmers, by the way — to connect with one another and with pros from around the nation. 

Even Portland's mayor is behind the effort:
