Sharpen your keyboards, food bloggers: It's time for another blogging contest on Culinate! Any blog post written on Culinate member pages between today, May 13, and Sunday, May 31, is eligible for the contest. Rules are the same as they've been for our other blogging contests: We at Culinate will choose five blog posts, one by one, as finalists; these posts will be highlighted on the Culinate home page. [%image reference-image float=right width=400 caption="Blog for food — from the farmers' market."] Then, on June 3, we'll open voting, and our readers will choose the grand prize winner among all the finalists. Each finalist will receive a copy of the luscious new book Rustic Fruit Desserts, by Cory Schreiber and Julie Richardson, as a prize. (With a subtitle "Crumbles, Buckles, Cobblers, Pandowdies, and More," who can resist?) Then, the grand prize winner will receive a $100 shopping trip to the farmers' market of his/her choice (previous winners Laura went to the Portland, Oregon, farmers' market, and Lara to the Union Square Market in New York). We're looking for food posts that make us laugh, or weep, or think about something in a new way. We're looking for stories that are authentic, about food that's tasty. Photos or art, while not required, are a definite plus. As someone said to us recently, good food writing is rarely only about food. It's about people. So go forth, people, and tell your stories! We all want to read them — and you may win a prize. h4. The finalists, so far Christina on learning to appreciate spring. John on Spam. Jenny on feeding a cold. Eddie on the meat paradox. Jon on buying cheese in Hungary.
