Served on a plate with other durable holiday sweets — frosted cookies, gingerbread men, and the like — these rum balls were and are a boozy favorite at my family's annual Christmas Day dinner.
They are unapologetically mid-century retro, conjuring up images of appetizers skewered with toothpicks and highball cocktails. And, yes, they are held together by the magic of crushed Nilla wafers. But they require absolutely no cooking, and once served, they disappear, pronto.
p(blue). With our Sweet 16 blog, we present a holiday dessert recipe every weekday for the first few weeks of December. Congratulations to [/user/schwinntwin "Marylin"], who was our daily book winner for December 12.\ Check out our latest Sweet 16 blog recipe for another chance to win.
