Cucumber Raita

This is an excellent side dish to serve as cool relief along with spicy food. If you don’t have an English cucumber, use a regular one, but scrape out the seeds before chopping.


  1. ½ onion, finely chopped
  2. 1 English cucumber, finely chopped
  3. 1 tsp. ground cumin (or more to taste)
  4. ¼ to ½ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  5. 16 oz. plain yogurt
  6. Salt to taste


  1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Adjust cumin and salt to taste, and serve.
