Nanny's Frosting

(recipe, Maura Berger)


for my niece Katie- This is a double batch - enough to frost two eight inch layers with enough for piping at the base and top


  1. 2 sticks butter (softened)
  2. 1⅓ cups Herseys cocoa (powder/sifted)
  3. 6 cups confectioners sugar (sifted)
  4. ⅔ cup milk
  5. 1 Tbsp. fresh brewed coffee
  6. 2 Tbsp. Vanilla extract


  1. In Mixer- cream the butter
  2. Add the sifted cocoa & confectioners sugar alternating with the liquids
