Sure, you know that it's better to get your vitamins from whole foods than from little pills. And you may have heard that some supplements — specifically calcium and vitamin D — may be problematic for your health. 

But had you heard about the antioxidant theory of vitamins? As laid out in a recent op-ed by Paul A. Offit, the idea is that taking too many vitamins overloads your body with antioxidants. It's a problem called '"the — also known as Too Much of A Good Thing.

So: more broccoli, fewer pills.
