Sunland salmonella

(article, Culinate staff)

Sunland, a food manufacturer based in New Mexico specializing in nut butters, has issued a massive recall of nearly 300 products.

The foodstuffs range from peanut butter (a popular vector for salmonella, unfortunately) to crackers, cookies, ice cream — pretty much any product that might contain nuts.

So if you shop at Trader Joe's, Costco, or Whole Foods, among other venues, check your groceries. And if you tend to hoard packaged goods, check those expiration dates; the recall covers everything manufactured in Sunland's peanut-butter plant since March 2010. For the full list of the recalled items, hit the FDA's website.
