Cleaner chemicals?

Late in July, the Safe Chemicals Act finally got moving, passing out of committee in the Senate. Which, as the Huffington Post recently pointed out, means that the act — introduced way back in 2005 — might finally be on its way to reforming the even more outdated Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976. If reform truly happens, it could mean that the federal government would have to prove a substance was safe before it hit the market.
