Seattle-based food writer and blogger Pat Tanumihardja recently posted a request on her food blog, The Asian Grandmothers Cookbook: She needs recipe testers for her forthcoming cookbook, and if you agree to try out some recipes and give detailed feedback on them, she'll include your name in the cookbook, due out from Sasquatch Books in 2009. In her words, The Asian Grandmothers Cookbook promises to be: bq. A compilation of family and home-cooking recipes from across the Asian smorgasbord, the idea being that grandmothers are the closest link we have to our cultures and traditions. It’ll also contain anecdotes and stories about family, food traditions, grandmothers, mothers, and aunts. I envision it as a way to preserve traditional recipes for future generations. Recipes that she's posted about on her 5-month-old blog so far include chicken adobo, shrimp with black bean sauce, somen salad, and Cantonese-style steamed cake. If you've always wanted to try your hand at recipe testing, now's your chance!
