Melanie Warner, who writes the Food Fight blog on BNET, wrote two recent reports on the latest Monsanto GMO twist: the possibility that plants with GM resistance to herbicides are eventually weakened by those herbicides, falling sick with diseases that don't affect healthy, non-GM plants. And that livestock who eat those GM plants can be similarly affected, especially in the fertility department.

As Warner noted, the potential problem was revealed back in January, when a plant scientist named Don Huber sent a letter to the USDA detailing the issue. So far, however, the USDA has made no move to verify Huber's findings.
