Baked treats for Japanese relief

(article, Culinate staff)

Tomorrow, in several cities across the U.S., volunteers will be getting together to sell and buy homemade baked goods as part of an effort to fundraise for the victims of Japan's recent earthquake. (And no, this is not an April Fool's stunt.) Called Bakesale for Japan, the event will take place in such cities as San Francisco, Portland, Austin, New York, Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and D.C. (Don't forget the sales on the island of Maui, either.) If you can't donate a baked good at the last minute, show up to buy some, and fold a few paper cranes in solidarity, too.
