Pumpkins Decorators Winners, New POS Machine, & Winter Market Hours

The Menominee Historical Downtown Winter  Farmers Market is sponsored by the Menominee Downtown Business Association and hosted by Timeless Treasures Antique Mall at 902 2nd Street on  Saturday 10am to 1pm. 
Vendors will leave as they sell out. Our market  fishermen,  farmers, and gardeners are licensed with the MDA and USDA to sell meat, fish,  and eggs. Due to the passing of the cottage food law only items made in Michigan can be sold at the farmers market.  You will find we offer a wide varieties of items which makes this Market unique in itself.
 
The winners of the Pumpkin Decorating Contest were picked on Thursday , 0-5 age group was Sydney Ebsch  and 6 and up group was Nora Schmitt.  Each won a Pumpkin tote bag with Halloween books, crafts, safety light, stickers and candy.  We want to Thank Forever Toys, Aurora Book, The Flower Gallery and Timeless Treasures Antique Mall for showcasing the pumpkins and items for prizes.
We also want to Thank everyone who voted on the Pumpkins.  We look forward to doing this again next year.
 
The Menominee Historical Downtown Winter Farmers Markets has acquired a Wireless POINT OF SALE
Machine and starting November 6,  besides the EBT cards, will be  able to take both debt and credit cards.
We will be accepting Master Card, Visa, and Discovery cards.  There is a $1.50 service charge for all debit and credit card transaction.  Similar to EBT Transaction, instead of a token,  Market money will be given to customers with debit and credit card to purchase at the market. Unlike EBT transaction, change will be given for the Market Money purchase.
 
The market is also bringing back "Know your Farmer Meet Your Vendor," Where the customer get to find out where its produce come from and learn how crafts are made.    We will be featuring Sandy Dixon's Wheat Weaving.  Come down and find out (I bet you didn't Know That about her.) and the same time get a chance to win a tote with goodies from the market in it. This will run for the 4  Saturdays in November with drawing on November 27 at noon.
 
The market will also be looking for Special Vendors, to fill the needs of our expanding market for the Winter and mostly summer market times.  A list will be featured next week.
 
Saturday Market will have Farm Fresh Eggs, Grass and Grain fed beef products of hamburger, steaks, spare ribs, roasts, tenderloin, porterhouse, T-bone, naturally raised pork products, of ham slices, chops, ribs, bacon, breakfast sausage,  No MSG brats, Summer Sausage, and Beef Sticks , along with jams jellies  and maple syrup, and pumpkins, Grass fed lamb products of ,Loin chops,  ribs chops. , neck roast, spare ribs, & leg of lamb,  Vegetables Red & yellow  onions, sun spot squash, White cabbage  Carrots, Potatoes  garlic and assorted fresh herbs, We will also have homemade Yeast  Breads, tea breads, muffins,  cookies, and cake mixes in jars, puff corn, snack crackers, possible fudge
 
Crafts will be Hand dyed spun wool yarn,  hand knitted caps, scarves,  wool socks, small furniture items, bird houses, bird feeders, cutting boards, gourds, leather bags, hand knitted dishcloths, cat toys, ceramic jewelry,  handmade wheat weaving items,  and Ukrainian Eggs,
