S'mores Snack Cake

I copied this from mom's recipe book and don't know yet if it's any good.


  1. 1 cup flour
  2. 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  3. 1 tsp. baking powder
  4. ½ tsp. baking soda
  5. ½ tsp. salt
  6. i cup brown sugar
  7. ½ cup shortening
  8. 3 eggs
  9. 1 cup milk
  10. 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  11. 1 7.0 oz. jar of marshmallow creem (1½ cups)


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 13x9" pan.
  2. Combine all dry ingredients.
  3. Best sugar and shortening together. Add the eggs, one at a time. Alternately add the dry ingredients and the milk until blended. Stir in ⅔ cup of the chocolate chips. Spread into the prepared pan and bake 25-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 15 minutes in the pan.
  4. Melt the remaining ⅓ cup chocolate chips in the microwave or over a double boiler. Spoon teaspoons of marshmallow creme onto the warm cake and carefully spread with a knife dipped in hot water. Swirl the melted chocolate chips through the marshmallow to marble. cool completely.
  5. I also like the idea of topping the marshmallow creme with some mini marshmallows and pieces of graham cracker and then toasting the top a little with a kitchen torch.
