Glazed Pumpkin Cookies

Introduction
Mom found this recipe and it makes the best pumpkin cookies (not too cakey). It's also easily modified for Laura D.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup suger
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 cup raisins
- For Glaze:
- ¾ tsp. vanilla
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 4 tsp. milk
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 cup confectioners sugar
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 and grease cookie sheets or line with silpat.
- Cream butter, sugar and pumpkin. Add the egg and vanilla and mix well. Add sifted dry ingredients gradually. Add raisins.
- Drop onto greased cookie sheet and bake 10-12 minutes. Cool a little and spread glaze onto warm cookies.
- For Glaze:
- Cook the butter, brown sugar and milk until all is dissolved on the stove. Cool a little. Add the vanilla and the confectioners sugar. Spread onto warm cookies.
