Spicy Barbecue Sauce

Introduction

This recipe is adapted from the July/August 1994 issue of Eating Well.

Ingredients

  1. ¾ cup strong brewed coffee
  2. 1 cup ketchup
  3. ¼ cup mild molasses
  4. 2 Tbsp. orange juice
  5. 2 Tbsp. apple-cider vinegar
  6. 2 tsp. whole-grain Dijon mustard
  7. 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  8. 2 tsp. red-pepper flakes

Steps

  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium-sized saucepan and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes, until slightly thickened.
