Market Will Continue During Waterfront Festival

The Menominee Historical Downtown Farmers Market is sponsored by the Menominee Downtown Business Association and hosted by Timeless Treasures Antique Mall at 902 2nd Street.   Market will be going on during Waterfront.on Thursday 3 pm to 7pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm. Vendors will leave as they sell out. Our market  fishermen,  farmers, and gardeners are licensed with the MDA and USDA to sell meat, fish, and eggs.Due to the passing of the cottage food law only items made in Michigan can be sold at the farmers market.  This a diverse market.  between our farmers, and local vendors  who hand craft a multitude of items.

Weather permitting, the market will also feature every Thursday from 3pm to 5pm, The Community Drum Circle.  Anyone who has a drum or wants to learn to play a drum,  is encouraged to come down and join the group or come and enjoy the music as you shop. The Menominee Historical Downtown Farmers Market is running a new program "Know your Farmer,  Meet Your Vendor" This is an opportunity for the customer to really know where his food is coming from  and a chance to fine out how the crafts are done and a chance to be in a drawing for a tote of goodies from the farmers and vendors of the market.

'The Fern Hill Farm"  is featured for the second week, so come on down  late afternoon  on Thursday and  early Saturday morning to see how things are made and grown on her farm, and  for the coupon punch, get your answers on "I Bet you didn't know this" about her.   Drawing will be on August 7, at 1pm. 

Thursdays Market will have grass fed beef products of hamburger, liver, oxtail, and heart.  Naturally raised pork products of ham slices, chops, ribs, bacon , brats and breakfast sausage.  
Hopefully farm fresh eggs. white fish, and lamb . Vegetables will be beets, assorted kale, garlic, 
lettuce, green beans, possible carrots, and any other vegetable that is ready. herbs will be rosemary, basil, dill, chives, and other herbs will be offered.  Crafts that will be featured  will be bird houses, cutting boards, small furniture items, gourds,  hopefully hand spun wool yarn, and yarn products, possible aprons,  small sewn items, and soap and lotions. 

Saturdays market will feature a shipment of lower Michigan fruits of blueberries, peaches, possible blackberries and apricots. The market will also have meat products that are featured on Thursday market  along with most of the vegetable and herbs, Hopefully cucumbers, broccoli,
and other items that are ready.  Jams and jellies will be offered on Thursday and Saturday with possible fresh bread offered on Saturday.

Crafts on Saturday will be birdhouses, bird feeders, cutting boards, small furniture, with the additions of quilted totes, and purses, wallets, boo boo pillows, bookmarks, pot holders, placemats, hand spun woo yarn, wool socks,  possible  lamb pelts and area photo pictures in wood frames. and greeting cards.

The market will be accepting Project Fresh, Senior Project Fresh, WISEWOMAN Market Fresh coupons and EBT cards from all States.
