The Downtown Historical Menominee Farmer’s Market is pleased to announce that it is now accepting food stamp benefits! Starting May 22nd, those who receive food stamp benefits will be able to use their Bridge Cards to buy fresh fruits and vegetables at the Menominee Farmer’s Market. The Building Healthy Communities’ Coalition (BHC) and Farmers’ Market vendors are very excited to be able to accommodate those individuals who have bridge cards,” states Bridget Bartol, BHC Coordinator for Public Health, Delta & Menominee Counties. “It’s a great way to eat fresh, healthy, and local”, states Bartol. The summer market runs from May 22nd until October 9th. This year the market will be held at its new, permanent location: Timeless Treasures Antique Mall, 902, 2nd Street, Menominee, MI. Hours of operation are Thursdays from 3-7pm, and Saturdays from 9am-1pm. If you have any questions about the market or would like to be a vendor, please call Lucy Pier, Market Master, at (906) 863-8718.
