Sticky Chinese-Style Spareribs

Introduction

Ingredients
- 1 rack spareribs cut up, 3 pounds or so (recipe says individual ribs, I used bigger chunks)
- 1 one inch piece of ginger, sliced thin
- 1 bunch scallions, cut to 2" lengths (I didn't read and chopped them, oh well.)
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled and smashed
- 2 star anise
- ¼ cup rock sugar or 2 Tbs granulated sugar (I used a few hunks of peen thong sugar)
- ½ cup soy sauce
- 1½ cups low sodium chicken broth (I used 2 cups because that's the size of the package.)
- 2 Tbsp. hoisin sauce
- 2 Tbsp. rice wine vinegar
Steps
- Place all ingredients in the slow cooker
- Cook on Low for 7-8 hours or until meat is very tender.
