(post, Cristin Couzens)
I didn’t do much shopping this week as we were so well fed by our Denver friends who graciously shared their holiday with us. The real pumpkin pie got a thumbs up. One comment was “that’s the best pumpkin pie I’ve ever had.” Though when I made an apple pie at Thanksgiving and reminded my Dad that yes, he had had this pie before, and don’t worry he told me it was the best apple pie he’d ever had. He asked, “was it really that good, or was I just saying that?” My husband repeated with wonderment, ‘it tastes just like pumpkin!” Finally, when he said it a third time, I said, “but it IS a pumpkin. What did you expect it to taste like?” “It tastes just like the stuff from the can!” I guess I’ll take that as a compliment. Just a few pics from the Denver Indoor Farmers’ Market for you this week.
