Celeriac Cast Away

I’ve purchased celeriac before.  Once for a batch of chicken stock, and again by mistake a couple of months ago. I thought I was buying jicama.

On the way to the car, a vision flashed in my head and I realized what I had wasn’t warty and ugly enough to be celeriac.  This was followed by an image of ‘Wilson’ from the movie Cast Away with Tom Hanks--his washed up volleyball-turned companion that looks exactly like this week's vegetable.
