Marionberry Pie

3rd Place Marionberry Pie contest—Oregon State Fair 2009 Recipe by: Anne Riger

Ingredients

    Crust
    1. 2 cups pastry flour
    2. 1 tsp. sea salt
    3. ⅔ cup butter flavor shortening
    4. ½ cup + 2 tablespoons cold water
    5. Mix flour and salt, cut in shortening, add water, mix lightly, roll our and line pie pan.
    Filling
    1. 3 cups marionberries 1 cup kotoka berries
    2. 1¼ cups organic sugar
    3. 1 Tbsp. tapioca
    4. 3½ Tbsp. flour
    5. ½ tsp. cinnamon

    Steps

    1. Mix and fill piecrust, apply top, seal edges, brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
    2. Bake at 450 degrees for 10minutes then turn down to 350 for 40 minutes.
