Opening Day

When Pastor John of the First Presbyterian Church rang the opening bell, there were eleven stands representing 15 different local producers on the square. Strawberries and fresh peas, a wide assortment of grass-fed and pastured meats including roasted chickens straight from Otterbein Acres. There were farmstead cheeses made with cows milk and sheep milk along with fragrant flowers, hand-made soaps and LOTS of wonderful veggies. A local CSA also used the market as an opportunity for her members to pick up their weekly shares. 

Despite the downpour during set up, Mother Nature held off on the rain until a few minutes after the closing bell. Even with the wet, cooler weather, market supporters showed up en mass to get the locally-produced fresh foods they've been craving.
