You're four years old. You're presented with a plate of marshmallows and told you can have one now or two later. What do you do? Snatch, or stew? According to a recent New Yorker article, what you do in response to the marshmallow test — whether you resist or not — supposedly predicts how well you'll do in later life. Even if you really, really like marshmallows, just saying no for 15 minutes apparently makes all the difference.
