Last week in his New York Times' Minimalist column, Mark Bittman wrote about citrus salsa and red snapper. True, the recipe looked delicious, but as you may know if you're a savvy seafood shopper, red snapper is a fish to avoid because of overfishing, according to the Environmental Defense Fund and others. Over at Grist, Tom Philpott respectfully called out Bittman, who in turn took time for a reply in the comments section; the discussion is worth a look. Want more talk on the subject?
