Jamie Oliver cooks for world leaders

(article, Culinate staff)

The blog Obama Foodorama reports that Jamie Oliver's dinner for the G-20 summit in London this week was impressive — and not in the way that some might expect:

bq. His "Best of Britain" dinner was done with foods sourced entirely from the British Isles, a perhaps unintentional — but enormously timely — commentary on international trade. Even better, much of the food was both organic and sustainably grown. And during a time of grave global economic crisis, the food costs were astoundingly low: Jamie notes on his blog that the meal came out to about £11 a head (about $16 US).

Helpfully, the blog also printed the recipe for the evening's dessert: Hot Bakewell Tart.
