'The Botany of Desire,' staged

(article, Culinate staff)

From Ketzel Levine — a former NPR reporter with a green thumb based in Portland, Oregon — comes news of a surprising theatrical adaptation: The Botany of Desire, Michael Pollan's 2002 book that [/books/book_reviews/The+Botany+of+Desire "bridges the garden and the dinner table,"] will be turned into a play. Two artists-in-residence at UC Berkeley's Arts Research Center, director Alex Harvey and composer John Gromada, will lead the charge; the first public reading, in Berkeley, is on April 24.
