It has been a long time since I got to bake some bread on my own and really had fun doing so..... Then came today and it was great.I found this nice recipe of original mallorca style ensaimadas and I just couldn't resist but to throw some flour in the mixer and give it a spin. Result was wonderful and I am happy to share this with You and hope you give it a try. Ensaimadas are famous on the island of mallorca, part of the spanish balearic island group. They make a superb breakfast or afternoon tea time bread. 500g Flour 230g warm milk 20ml olive oil 75g butter 20g instant yeast 10g salt 100g sugar 2 eggs Combine all ingredients in a kitchenmixer and prepare a dough of slight sticky consistency.Allow to rest and double in size. With the help of a rolling pin flatten the dough to appr.1/2 inch in thickness.Cut strips and roll them long with a slight twist. Allow to double in size and bake until golden brown.Dust slightly with powdered sugar.
