Eating What You Have

(post, Amelia Sides)

For a while now I have been trying to have a budget while going shopping for groceries. It tends to go out the window as I rarely have a set list of what I am going to cook that week or month. I have also tried several times to simply eat everything I have out of my cabinets in the kitchen before I go to the store but this leads to binge shopping as I buy everything I have been denighing myself for weeks. Instead I think I am going to organize my cabinets this weekend and come up with dishes using everything I have right now, write them down, and try to use at least two to three dished every week. That way I am using the random goods I have in the pantry and I get to cook more, always a bonus.

Anyone else have any ideas on how to control the clutter in your cabinets?
