- ½ l cream
- ½ l milk
- 150 g sugar
- 2 t vanilla essence
- 9 eggs
- panatone bread, sliced and buttered each side
- Heat the cream, milk, sugar, vanilla and eggs over low heat.
- Butter thick slices of panatone and soak in the cream and egg mixture.
- Place into a deep bread pan lined with waxed paper and greased.
- Bake covered with foil 35 minutes at 160 degrees C
- Bake uncovered for 10 minutes until browned.
- Serve with cream or ice-cream.
