Vanilla Basil Ice Cream

Introduction
I made this recipe in the prime of the basil growing season and it turned out amazing.
Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream (chilled)
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup sugar (we used super fine)
- 1 vanilla bean (insides scraped out and remainder put in sugar jar for vanilla sugar)
- 15 basil leaves
Steps
- add sugar, vanilla, milk and basil into food processor and blend for 25 seconds
- filter mixture through a fine mesh strainer to get all the basil bits out
- add heavy whipping cream and mixture into ice cream maker
- run machine for 25-30 minutes or until thick
- transfer ice cream to plastic container and freeze
