I attended a meeting of the Culinary Historians of Boston last night and the Brass Sisters were the featured speakers. They talked about their experiences gathering, testing, and selecting recipes for their new book. The book is very interesting, the recipes look tempting, and the design is fantastic. They used lots of old cooking products and brochures to illustrate the book, many of which I recognized from my own family's haphazard collection of cooking pamphlets, booklets, and appliance instructions. I can't wait to try their renditions of dishes that I already cook regularly and also to try some dishes I have never had before. http://www.thebrasssisters.com/ In other news, I am trying to figure out how to make a photo scrap book out of photographs that I took at the Santa Monica Farmers Market last May to give to someone for Christmas. One of my friends made a beautiful little scrap book using a program from Apple (it makes a little bound, printed book) and I can't figure out how to access the right information about how to do it. If anyone knows how, let me know! Thanks.
