It's gift-giving season, which means that top-10 lists of cookbooks are hitting the Web. The New York Times published a handy compendium of recommendations for 2008's cookbooks, noting that in hard times, people cook more — and therefore need cookbooks, right? The paper rounded up cookbook lists from its own staff, Publishers Weekly, Gourmet, NPR, and Epicurious.
