cranberry bogs, away?

So I loved Joan Menefee's description of hunting for cranberries and English walnuts and I'd love to go bogging myself -- dried cranberries are delicious and I can only imagine the cranberry sauce I could can! But is it actually possible to just go out and find a bog? I know cranberries grow near the Oregon coast -- does anyone want to get a bogging expedition going?
