 h1. Dear readers,
 
 I admit that starting our Vegetable Challenge in September — aka Harvest Month — begs the question: Where's the challenge? 

 The vegetables right now are glorious, and who doesn't want to eat them? OK, granted, there are a few vegetable haters out there, but even you haters are probably finding something good to eat this month, right? New potatoes? Lemon cucumbers?
 
 I'm hoping that I get into the habit of eating two-and-a-half cups of vegetables every day, so that when February rolls around, I won't be caught with my veg down.
