Yup, folks, it's blackberry season here in the Pacific Northwest. Some people, of course, think that blackberries come in tiny pints at the farmers' market and cost lots of money. Those people are silly. Don't they know that blackberries are free for the picking pretty much everywhere west of the Cascade Mountains? So put on your long-sleeved shirts and pants (those prickers are painful) and pick a bucket already, then make jam or a pie.
