(post, Multnomah Village Farmers' Market)
What a difference one week makes. Last week, it was nearly 100 degrees. This week it's 30 degrees cooler. The hot weather took its toll though. The berry harvest will be lighter; strawberries, some blueberries and maybe blackberries. Unger Farms should have another crop of raspberries coming in a few weeks. Peaches will be readily available. Apricots, cherries and nectarines should be available as well. The new apple crop started coming in last week. You should find Gravenstein and Ginger Gold apples readily available. As for vegetables, corn and green beans are quite plentiful. Greenville Farms brought quite a bit of corn last week and still sold out. They are bringing more this week. A new farm, Sulina & Bay's Farm, joins the market this week. Sulina has a wide variety of lettuces, many kinds of pole beans, fresh garlic, bunched carrots and beets, mint, basil, tarragon, onions, and a lot more. Stop by her stall and say hello.
